Education transforms Children into “Human” Beings. How are Primates transformed— to develop Human awareness and learn to Choose the activities which will support their lives? There are no innate ideas or “Learning.” ] Useful information, is learned with the structure which is useful to apply that knowledge. I remember an Advanced Algebra class at U-10. A sequence of manipulation was taught. Another sequence was taught, and we were tested. I flunked the test. This was repeated. One day, I grasped the principle which Un-tied the Gordian knot, and—United the things which (some of us) were memorizing. I could easily perform all the exercises, when I understood what the math tools were good for! The best possible schooling will prepare a child to Choose a career, and learn the skills to perform. The Mermaid at Weeki Wachee Springs is the human counterpart of the dancing chicken at Webb City. Public Schools “serve the public as opposed to earning profits.” Public Schools “are not motivated by profits” and do not attract students by academic Competition. Why is “Free” education so atrocious that truancy enforcement augments affordability? Public Education is an inscrutable institution, adopted by ignorant, irascible voters— to indoctrinate their offspring. “ The cattle breeder does not feed his cows in order to make them happy, but in order to attain the ends which he has assigned to them in his own plans.” [ Human Action] Improvement is possible when Teachers are free from Bureaucratic strangulation, and Profit Signals are Not filtered through political and union bosses.
